Have You Been in a Parking Garage Lately?
What's with everybody thinking that they have a compact car these days? I know that just because you managed to squeez your truck into the compact car spot that you think it fits. In reality, I still have to find a way to maneuver my compact car around the already impossibly tight turns in the parking garage and your dually is in the way.

How You Know You are Married to a Man
I tried calling my husband yesterday afternoon to let him know that I had picked up some of his favorite beer. When he didn't answer, I texted him, "Bought you a case of Augustiner, don't need to talk." He came home so excited, he said it was the best text message he had ever gotten. He had plenty of beer at home and he didn't even have to call me back.

Seriously?
If you were my grey pants with blue stripes, where would you be? Seriously. My house is 1000 sq.ft. Did the dryer eat them?

Vegetables!
I am trying to give up meat. I have never really liked it, so why not get rid of it. Is it weird that I keep forgetting and accidentally eat meat?

I'm Not Technically in the City, But...
I've lived in this apartment for 14 months now and I just noticed that someone down the street has chickens. Just walking around their yard. And I was suprised by the corn patch down the street.

While my car gets fixed I am renting a little Mazda 6. It's actually cute. I have never rented a car that you could say that about. I kind of like it and it's zippier than mine, but I'm having a hard time mastering only 2 pedals.

Parking Wars
Some wanker ran into my car in the parking garage while they were trying to get into the parking spot on my passenger side. It looks like they made contact with my car, decided it was no big deal and kept going until they got into the spot, saw the damage to my car, and reparked somewhere else. So I decided to call it in to my insurance company, which is really my dad's insurance policy. Turns out, I'm a little too old and married and independent and living in Virginia to still be on my family's insurance, so I had to get my own insurance. No big deal, I had to grow up at some point. Anyway, I moved Nick over to my new policy all by myself. I seriously think I feel more grown up now than I did when I bought my first house. Here are some pics of the damage:

So True
I saw this little blurb on Dooce today and it struck a chord with me. I'm not talking about the necklace, it's what she says about all the clothes at Forever 21 being so small. I've never been there, but the same is true at H&M. My first time there, I started trying on my size and ended up with one that fit 2 and 3 sizes up. Why do I want to buy something that makes me feel like a giant?

Under Pressure
Ohmigosh! The stress is killing me. I don't think I ever stop thinking. I just can't shut my head up so I can do other things, like sleep. Now, I admit, waking up at 4 AM and not being able to go back to sleep isn't exactly insomnia, but it is very unusual for me. I could win a sleeping contest. It's just the amount of thoughts that were running through my head the whole time. It was all I could do to not get up and get my "Idea Notebook." The thoughts have gotten so bad I just have to write them down right away so that, hopefully, I can think about other things. It's just not working.

Keep Going
It just occured to me that I'm not getting any younger and life isn't getting any easier. So, I need to have some fun before I have children. I am really hoping to get together either a big group camping trip or go to a festival somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas?

Just a Little Rant
3 Thing I can't stand
- People making assumptions about others
- People passing judgement about anyone or anything
- People being overly critical of everything (I guess this goes along with judgement)
Anyway, just had to get that off my chest. Does that make me judgemental?

I Need a Break
I am having an awful week. I feel completely overwhelmed by life in general. It's way too much trouble to have to refill the dixie cup holder in the medecine cabinet or clean the kitty litter boxes. Then again, that's always way too much trouble. I would really love to get rid of my cats. This week, the burden of thinking about how much their cat food costs is really getting to me. The burden of thinking about how much everything costs is really getting to me. I've thought about getting a second job, but then I worry that I will never find the time to apply to grad school. And then I worry about applying to grad school. And that's pretty much what its been like inside of my head this week. AAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I could use a break, from life.

What's Going On?
Just A few things that are going on my life:
- Nick and I had a delicious and easy dinner last night. I marinated a flank steak for 24 hours in Stubb's Beef Marinade. Then Nick broiled it for about 8 minutes on each side. When it was finished he sliced it against the grain, we threw it on some tortillas with sauteed peppers and onions and a little Seriously Sharp White Cheddar Cheese. I made a little Mexican Rice to go on the side. It made a very satisfying meal.
- My sister has gone back to college and is living in her first, ever apartment. My mom says she is quite the homemaker. I am very proud of her, even if she doesn't seem to know her own address.
- This weekend Nick and drove around Richmond to check out the locations of houses we had seen for sale online. We didn't see anything that blew us away. Bottom line, I don't think we can afford a house in the location we want, with the space we need, and the charm and character I want. Most of which the townhouse we are renting right now gives us. So we are back to debating whether or not we should buy a house again or continue renting until I finish grad school. It would be nice to not have to worry about yard work on the weekends when I have to study.
- I have been organizing my desk and files today. This should make working a lot easier. I am very pleased with my work.

Today can only get better
See my optimistic attitude. I've been working on it. I couldn't fall asleep last night and then had one of those restless nights where I couldn't figure out if my dreams were dreams or just thinking. Then I woke up at 5 AM and couldn't stop thinking that Nick was soaking one of my baking sheets in the sink and they can't soak, cause they fill with water and explode in the oven. So, I had to go downstairs to check, and he wasn't soaking it, cause he also knows they will explode if we soak them. So much for having a little faith in him. Then I just laid in bed thinking some more. I guess I finally went to sleep because I woke up to Daisy throwing up in her bed. I cleaned her bed and got ready for work, but forgot to do half of the stuff I do to get ready for work and forgot my lunch. Once I hit the cobblestone road on my way to work I had this weird feeling that I wasn't wearing my bra, thankfully I am, I can't imagine explaining that to my boss. I am groggy and really need to concentrate, but my mind keeps wandering and mulling and thinking about stuff that I really shouldn't be mulling over. Stuff that I can't change now, a lot of it stuff that happened years ago. Anyway, so today can only get better, I hope.
